Voyage 101: Travel Destination for Introverts

Believe it or not, introverts love exploring new cities just as much as extroverts do. They just prefer to do it without all the tourists around them. One-on-one conversations, visiting beautiful places like Jamaica, and having time to reflect on their life is more important to them than, let’s say, hanging out on crowded streets or partying all night long. That’s because introverts enjoy having downtime, and lots of it. If they spend too much time around people or in noisy environments for long periods of time, they can get drained — mentally and physically. They can also get cranky and short-tempered from the all the chaos as well. The good news is, there are a number of amazing locations and travel destinations for introverts to check out — without all the distractions from tourists.

Although some destination promotes peace, others make it easy for people like introverts to get lost in their thoughts. This is what helps them reflect on things. So, what are some introvert-friendly destinations? Well, as long as you have the right travel equipment, you can be sure to check out the following destinations:

Voyage 101: Travel Destination for Introverts

Canada:

Normally, when people think of Canada, the first thing they think of is the cold weather. In fact, Canada is much more than that. It has a number of multicultural cities with their own personalities. This variety means there are popular locations for extroverts, and quieter ones for introverts. Although there are a number of great cities to visit while exploring Canada, one city, in particular, offers the perfect environment for introverts. What city? Stratford in Ontario, Canada – a city known for its small Shakespeare Festivals, quiet environment, and underrated culinary scene that is almost too good to pass up. If you’ve seen all you can in Stratford, don’t worry because they are other nearby cities like Woodstock, and Kitchener that you can check out without running into crowds.

Catalina Island, California:

You wouldn’t think a location this close to Los Angeles, California would be a good place for introverts, but you’d be wrong. That’s because the 22-mile trip to Catalina Island provides travelers with the perfect opportunity to get away and escape reality. How? Well, because it’s a loner destination, which means that introverts can get the same benefits as extroverts without relying on human interaction. Since the island is so close to the main city, tourists can travel at their own speed (by boat) to get there safely.

If you happen to travel there with an extrovert, don’t panic, because there are plenty of things for you to do without the group. Things like zip lining, parasailing, and jet skiing are just a few of the many things introverts can do alone. The best part is, once you’re done with your mini-vacation, you can just hop right back on the boat and head back to the mainland.

A cruise to Galapagos can be an exciting adventure.

Galapagos Island:

The islands of Galapagos have come a long way since Darwin’s famous expedition. Why? Because they not only serve as a natural volcanic island in Ecuador, they also serve as an isolated location as well — one that’s home to some of the most unusual species of wildlife. This includes giant tortoises, lizards, and of course, penguins. The island is also home to blue-footed boobies — a marine bird native to subtropical and tropical regions.

After spending some quality time exploring the islands, introvert travelers can then focus on other activities — like hiking, swimming, and listening to the waves crash against the rocks. If that doesn’t work, you can also book small group cruises as well. Although the rates differ, they typically offer visitors better deals depending on how long you stay. Some deal packages include snorkeling, boat rides, and kayaking if the water isn’t too rough.

Tulum, Mexico:

When it comes to isolated destinations, Mexico truly is the perfect place for solitude. Why? Because it’s a beautiful, historical, and culturally elegant location. In Mexico, for instance, travelers can visit ancient Mayan pyramids and see the white sand beaches with crystal clear water all at the same time. Tulum, Mexico, in particular, is also home to some of the most amazing exotic holes tourist can explore.

Although certain locations in Mexico (like Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas) are well known for drinking, partying, and crowds, Tulum offers the exact opposite. This means that travelers can avoid dealing with uncomfortable environments and instead focus on what matters most: themselves. With so many beautiful destinations located in Mexico, keeping your phone out is a way to stay ready to capture that moment forever. Remember, just because you might be an introvert, it doesn’t mean you can’t show off all the amazing places you’ve explored throughout the years. So why not?

The Coast of Oregon, USA:

Although Oregon is a place known for its diverse landscape of forests, mountains, and beaches, it’s also known for its remote locations. That’s where introverts come into play. Oregon offers plenty for tourists including biking, hiking, camping, swimming, and hundreds of miles beautiful, quiet natural beauty. Unlike certain locations, the Oregon coast is a public destination, meaning that you’re free to roam around as you please.

As you explore the Oregon coast, keep one thing in mind: the wildlife. That because Oregon, like many other destinations, is home to a number of different species you typically won’t see in your neighborhood. This might include white-tailed deer, certain species of owls, sea otters, and beavers. Though these animals are beautiful to look at, they can also be dangerous when they feel threatened. That’s why it’s important for you to have knowledge about your destination beforehand. After all, one of the most important things about a vacation is enjoying yourself and make it home safely.
