Luxury Beach Resorts That I’m Dying To Visit

Although I’ve spent the last few years travelling every few months from place to place, the only real taste of luxury travel I’ve ever had was when I stayed at the DPNY Beach Hotel in Ilhabela, Brazil. To date, my experience in Ilhabela has to be one of the best travel experiences of my life. I’d just met my now-fiancé and it was when he brought me there that I had the feeling of “Yep, he’ll do alright”. Our 4 days there was spent relaxing in the spa, drinking coconut water and fruit smoothies on the beach, eating delicious sushi at the hotel restaurant, and kayaking in the sea. I didn’t want to leave! Anyway, I think it was this experience in particular that opened my eyes to all the amazing things about luxury travel. Okay, so it’s probably going to be a long time before I visit a place like that again, purely because of financial reasons, and the fact that I can’t resist a budget getaway or city break – but I’m sure if I win the lottery or get extremely lucky, I’ll be heading to one of the luxury beach resorts on my list below.

Top 3 Luxury Resorts to Visit

1. Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa

Situated amongst the unspoiled coral reefs and along the idyllic coastline of French Polynesia, the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa is the first place to go if you ever win the lottery. It’s located on 17 waterfront acres, and guests there can stay in traditional thatched roof, Polynesian-style bungalows, either across the water, or in the midst of the exotic gardens. The Manea Spa offers all sorts of relaxing treatments, from hot stone massages to invigorating scrubs and body wraps. The resort has two restaurants and two bars, and guests can choose from Italian cuisine or local French-Polynesian food. The bars have amazing views of Bora Bora, the pool and ocean, and provide the perfect spot to watch the sunset after a day spent being busy doing nothing. Can someone please take me now?

2. JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa

Not quite as expensive as the Bora Bora resort, the JW Marriott Resort & Spa is situated in Phuket, Thailand, and offers guests an endless list of amenities. Choose from a room with a balcony facing either the garden, pool or ocean, and enjoy the luxury bedding, robe and slippers, and spacious bathtub. The resort has over 10 bars and restaurants, offering everything you could possibly ask for, from Thai to Italian to Japanese to Tapas. This resort is great in the sense that it caters for a range of travellers with all sorts of tastes and preferences. If you’re not already convinced, the award-winning Mandara Spa offers couple’s massages, therapy baths, plunge pools, and even massage lessons!

3. Couples Swept Away

…Amazing name, right? This luxurious couples-only beach resort is situated on Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica, and provides the ideal getaway for couples who are looking for the ultimate romantic experience. The hotel has a grand total of 312 rooms and suites (each of which offer awesome amenities), 6 restaurants, 8 bars, 3 pools, and a whopping 5 jacuzzis. The aspect of Couples Swept Away that sets it apart from other resorts and spas is that couples staying there can participate in all sorts of activities, from scuba diving and water sports to interesting excursions in the local area. It really is the perfect place for both couples who want to relax as much as possible, and more energetic couples who want to spend the day scuba diving and dancing the night away.
