Jal Mahal

Situated in the middle of Mansagar Lake, Jal Mahal is popularly referred as the Water Palace. This 18th-century palace was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II as a summer retreat and hunting lodge.

The palace was designed in Mughal and Rajput architectural style, providing a peaceful experience. The fragrant Chameli Bagh garden and beautifully decorated wide hallways add to the charm of the place. Jaigarh Fort

With impressive ramparts and walls, the main attraction at Jaigarh Fort is the Jaivana cannon. In 1720 it was the world’s largest cannon on wheels.

There was never a real need to use this cannon. However, it was used once to shoot a 50 kg ball an approximate distance of 35 km.

Once a centre of artillery production for the Rajputs, today Jaigarh Fort is a favourite location for travellers. From here you can view the beauty of Amber Palace and the Aravalli hills.

Nahargarh Fort

Situated a stone’s throw from Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort was once a part of the city’s defence system. The fort is huge, with a number of secret passages and stairway alleys. It’s really confusing for visitors to remember their way inside the fort.

From the rooftop terraces you can see the domes and ridges of the roof. You also get to witness an aerial view of the beautiful surroundings. These views make it one of the best offbeat places to explore in Jaipur.

Albert Hall Museum

The foundation stone of this museum was laid in honour of the Prince of Wales. The prince visited the Jaipur city in 1876 and the museum was named after him.

Though on the exterior it may look like any other museum, the inspiration behind its inception is totally unique. It’s purpose makes it one of the most interesting offbeat places to explore in Jaipur.

The building is a museum of industrial arts. It displays the products of local craftsmen to inspire other craftsmen and to preserve the importance of traditions and artisans.

Galtaji Temple

This prehistoric Hindu pilgrimage site is located on the outskirts of Jaipur city in the stunning Aravalli Hills. It’s also known as the “Monkey Temple” due to the presence of many monkeys.

Built with pick sandstone, the vast temple complex houses three sacred ponds and various shrines. Apart from the holy kunds, the temple also contains small temples dedicated to Lords Ram, Krishna and Hanuman.

With remarkable architecture and beautiful surroundings, the temple looks like a grand spectacular haveli.
