The Emerald Isle is known for its green pastures, wild coastlines, wide landscapes and rocky hills. It is the ideal country for a week-or-two-long vacation. It’s the perfect size to be explored in that amount of time. You can either drive around or cycle or even hike.
If you do decide to go, make sure to stop every once in a while and soak up the atmosphere of a particular town or place. Visit the pub, walk around or stay a night or two. While you’re there, you will stand in awe at the sight of the fabulous Cliffs of Moher, wonder at the emptiness of the Burren and find delight in exploring the Kerry coastline. Watch a trad band in a country pub, explore the beautiful Wicklow Mountains or the remoteness of County Donegal, or head inland and see the typically Irish patchwork of brown fields, green pastures, high hedges and narrow winding roads. As you explore and discover, you will notice the abundance of medieval castles, stone ruins and ancient burial mounts. Ireland is the country of myths and legends and has the perfect landscapes to go with that.
Here are ten pictures showing you the great Ireland landscapes, which make the country so famous. Scroll, see and go!
