The ever-lasting charm of Sin City: Las Vegas, Nevada

When someone mentions Las Vegas in Nevada’s Mojave Desert; the first thing that comes to everyone’s minds has to be gambling. This comes as no surprise, as the city is renowned for its world-class hotels and casinos and has inspired numerous stories of loss and success. But gambling is hardly the only thing visitors can enjoy during their stay. Most people tend to miss out on some lesser known, yet highly interesting and unique options; some of which can only be found in Sin City and nowhere else.

Enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show

Las Vegas is the epitome of entertainment and Cirque du Soleil; with its numerous aerial artists, nimble acrobats and strongmen, is the perfect example. Translating to “Circus of the Sun”, Cirque du Soleil is known worldwide for its impressive acrobatic feats performed with an unrivaled level of performance and artistry. The seven resident shows regularly fill out theaters along the Boulevard; with the most impressive display of acrobatic charm reserved for the O at the Bellagio. Tickets can be a little expensive for the average visitor; but everyone who’s witnessed Cirque du Soleil in person says that the spectacle is most definitely worth the price.

Explore the outdoor art gallery of Downtown

When it was launched back in 2013; the Life Is Beautiful Festival brought in an international team of muralists and street artists; who have completely transformed Downtown Las Vegas into an epicenter of artistic vision. The colourful and evocative paintings and enormous murals now completely cover the city’s walls. Each year, the program continues to bring in new artists who add layers upon layers of new, thought-provoking art; while touching up or replacing some of the work from previous years. This has resulted in a one-of-a-kind outdoor gallery that will surely leave you completely mesmerized.

Visit the infamous Mob Museum in Sin City, Las Vegas

Located inside the courthouse used during the Kefauver Hearings, the Las Vegas Mob Museum brilliantly chronicles the history of organized crime and numerous efforts made by law enforcement agencies in order to combat it. The museum includes chronicles from around the world, and from Sin City itself, where the mob used to run the entire joint back in the day. Out of the many exhibits showcased in the Mob Museum; the most notable ones are an ominous-looking vintage electric chair, as well as a piece of wall associated with the St Valentine’s Day Massacre.

Enjoy some of the finest beef in the world

You’ve probably already heard numerous stories regarding the exceptional, mouth-watering piece of heaven that is Kobe beef. But did you know that there are only a handful of restaurants throughout the world; that are certified to prepare and serve this prime piece of meat? And Las Vegas is home to not one, but three restaurants that serve the good stuff; so make sure to pay them a visit during your stay in the city.

Medical marijuana users rejoice

The Nevada voters gave a loud and resounding yes to the recreational use of marijuana during Election Day; making it one of the nine states that now allow the use of the plant in both medicinal and recreational purposes. This is excellent news for those who suffer from serious disorders and need their medicine to function normally throughout the day and if you’re one of them, or simply want to take the green opportunity while visiting Sin City, don’t be afraid to pay a visit to one of many medical marijuana dispensaries in Las Vegas.

As you can see, there’s more to Las Vegas than bright lights and casinos. Visitors are presented with the unique opportunity to enjoy numerous works of arts, find out more about local history, try out some of the best food in the world and see breathtaking aerial performances that will surely have everyone at the edge of their seats.
