The small pretty town of Birnam is located in the heart of Perthshire, siting 15 miles away from Perth and opposite its twin town of Dunkeld on the River Tay.

A lovely place to visit throughout the year with quaint tea rooms, shops and walks. The surrounding area also offers a number of family outdoor and indoor activities/attractions. One of them being The Hermitage, a National Trust for Scotland protected site including a fast flowing waterfall, Ossian’s Hall a folly with its ornate domed ceiling, mirrored art and balcony.  Then there is the ancient Douglas fir (including one of the tallest trees in the country). In Autumn it becomes a rainbow of colours, with a fresh crisp pine aroma filling the air.

The easiest way to visit the Lake District and Birnam, with more flexibility is by car. Why not take advantage of the low off season rates now available, for both car rental and accommodation.
