When conjuring up images of the winter and snow, there’s not many other cities that are so evocative as London. The city has a fond reputation for having terrible weather all year round, but that really depends on your definition (if “terrible” means snowfall and a warm breakfast every morning, then sign me up!)  If you’re looking for a classic winter destination full of culture and history, look no further.

New York

Perhaps equally iconic as London for it’s winter weather is the city that never sleeps. During the Holiday season the city comes alive with Christmas and New Year festivities, all set against a gorgeous snowy backdrop. There’s plenty to see and do any time of the year such as checking out Central Park and the Statue of Liberty, but it becomes extra magical during the winter months.

Perhaps one of the coldest on the list, (with temperatures dropping far below zero) Berlin is an incredibly beautiful city with a rich culture. As long as you bring enough warm clothes it’s a great destination to head to.
