Bighorn River, Montana

Compared to some of the more heavily visited areas in Utah and Colorado, the Bighorn river offers a little bit more solace than others. It is a river that is open to beginners equipped with nymphs and a fly fishing rod and reel combo. However, the dry fly fishing should be left to the more advanced fly fisherman. The best time to visit this iconic Montana river is during the months of May and June. The trout are big and plentiful with an average 18″ catch and is loved by locals as one of the most productive wild trout rivers in the state.
