Lovely & Affordable Places to Stay in London

If you saw one of my last posts titled How to Have the Perfect London Day Out, then you might just be a little eager to visit the jam-packed and energetic English capital. Those of us who live in the UK are lucky enough to be able to wake up early, travel a few hours and be able to spend the day there – but if you’re coming from much further afield, then of course you’ll need a few trusty accommodation options. I’m guilty for spending the least I possibly can on hotels whenever I go anywhere, but I always make sure I’m getting good value for my money and, where possible, a bit of added luxury. I tend to book my accommodation primarily on online simply because it has such a wide range of hotel/hostel/B&B options and has plenty of useful filters to ensure it caters for everyone’s individual needs and preferences. So, whether you’re currently planning your trip to the capital and are stuck on hotel options, or if you’re just curious about what London has to offer, then here are some super affordable London hotels and downright gorgeous places to stay there. Yep, you can thank me later.

The Best Affordable London Hotels

Eden Plaza Kensington

This luxurious hotel is ideal for those who love a spot of added luxury when they stay somewhere (admittedly, like myself). Considering the hotel’s fashionable location – situated in the Kensington & Chelsea district – prices are surprisingly low for a night there, and it’s safe to say that this one ticks all the boxes where value for money is concerned. With the Natural History Museum just a 5-minute walk away, guests are in one of the best spots in the city. Rooms include complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen TV, air conditioning for hot summer nights, and a view of London to die for.

Bright, bustling and in the heart of London, SoHostel is a great choice for young travellers, or those who are on a pretty tight budget. Just a 3 minutes’ walk from the shops on Oxford Street, this awesome accommodation option has plenty to offer its guests. Choose from a single, double or dorm room, and take a break in the spacious lobby after a long day of shopping. Breakfast and a 24-hour vending service is available, as well as complimentary WiFi and laundry service. Spending a few (cheap) days in London has never been easier.

St Christopher’s Inn Hostel Hammersmith

Just a couple of minutes’ walk from Hammersmith Tube Station, this hostel is yet another great choice of budget accommodation in London. It’s away from the hustle and bustle of central/touristy London, but still within super easy access. Meet locals and fellow travellers at Belushi’s Bar, situated just downstairs from the hostel, where guests at St Christopher’s Inn receive 25% off food and 2 for 1 drinks all day. The room rate includes a free breakfast each morning, as well as complimentary WiFi to keep in touch with friends and family.

The RE London Shoreditch

A little more expensive than the previous two, the RE London Shoreditch Hotel is ideal for those who want to stay in luxury accommodation in London – without breaking the bank. This hotel is located about 10 minutes away from London’s Financial District (The City), and is renowned for its modern, contemporary and luxurious rooms. Each room features a large bed, a flat-screen television, an en-suite power shower, and even a bath in some rooms. Guests can enjoy top-quality food at the on-site restaurant and take advantage of the gym with some of the best equipment.

The Haverstock Hotel

Situated in Hampstead, London, this beautiful boutique hotel has plenty to offer its guests. Those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of central London will appreciate the hotel’s quaint location, amongst the bars and restaurants of Hampstead – yet still within easy access of the city’s main attractions. Choose from a single, double or family room, and enjoy the complimentary bathrobes and slippers to ensure maximum relaxation during your stay. Each room also includes a flat-screen LCD television, a safety deposit box, a hair dryer, and tea & coffee making facilities.
