Celebrities, sun, sports, surfing, and some really great food… Los Angeles has it all. In 1996, California became the first state to make medical marijuana legal. And now, since January 1st 2018, recreational cannabis use is legal, too.

If you do find yourself in La La Land, you can take advantage of Los Angeles weed delivery services and high quality cannabis products, including flower, edibles and extracts.

Los Angeles has just about everything a cannabis tourist could hope to find. You can enjoy the beaches of Malibu, outdoor shopping at The Grove, catch a movie at the famous Arclight in Hollywood, or hike in Topanga Canyon. With so many options, you can have several of the best marijuana vacation experiences in a single trip.

Washington State has a rugged, gorgeous coastline and a world-famous timberland speckled skyline with log cabins, cozy bed & breakfasts –– and as of 2012, plenty of recreational marijuana dispensaries –– making Seattle an ideal location for a fantastic marijuana vacation.

Seattle has great cannabis, plenty of fantastic food options, and, of course, a renowned coffee scene (Seattle is the home of Starbucks, after all). If you’re traveling to the Emerald City in the summer, make sure to catch Hempfest. At Hempfest, activists, vendors and supporters gather to celebrate all things cannabis. It’s a great opportunity to learn about cannabis news and plan a visit to the next top cannabis vacation spot on your list.

Live music, food carts, and a bustling beer scene make this city a must-visit; but the proliferation of high-end dispensaries is yet another reason Portland is one of the top cannabis vacation spots.

Stop by one of Portland, Oregon’s many dispensaries, then head over to Voodoo Donuts for some of the most amazing donut creations you’ve ever had. Portland also has a world-famous Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, and zoo. And if that doesn’t keep you busy enough; you can always walk along the Willamette River or explore the bars and shops in the Pearl District.

There’s also Cape Cod nearby and islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, which have been popular vacation destinations for presidents and celebrities for years.

If you’re visiting Massachusetts, keep in mind that public consumption isn’t legal; so you’ll need to enjoy your cannabis indoors until things change on the legal front.

5. Bar Harbor, Maine

Amongst the best towns where recreational cannabis is legal, Bar Harbor is relatively new on the list; but it’s not hard to see why it makes the cut. If you like sailing, natural beauty and walks in the wilderness, nothing compares to Maine.
