15 Grand Canyon Photos That Show You Why You Should Visit

One of the most majestic landscapes on earth, the Grand Canyon is a place everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. In this post, I’ll show you why in a selection of fifteen inspiring Grand Canyon photos.

Situated in northern Arizona, the Grand Canyon is overwhelming. It’s all you could ever expect and then some. You know the pictures, but actually being there yourself is nothing like it. It’s magnificent to the point that it’s almost surreal. With its variety in colors, impressive rock formations and ancient geology, this is a place unlike any other on earth.

A Majestic Place

Although it’s not the deepest nor the longest canyon in the world, it is truly “grand” in every sense of the word. It’s definitely the most accessible of all canyons of this size, making it even more mandatory to visit the Grand Canyon someday. A mile deep and, at certain points, no fewer than eighteen miles wide, it’s hard to comprehend the sheer size of this iconic landscape.

There’s plenty to do as well, from mule riding to hiking and simply sightseeing. There are several accommodations near the South Rim, including lodges and a campground. Shuttle buses can take you to all major viewpoints and back.  At the South Rim, you’ll find a grocery store, bank and post office, visitor centers and museums.

If you’re interested in a three-day itinerary in the Grand Canyon, I’ve written up this informative post for you. Go and have a look. Plan a trip!

Let’s now continue with some photographic inspiration, the very purpose of this post. Below, you’ll find a selection of some of my favorite Grand Canyon photos, offering an overview of what you can expect when you visit the Grand Canyon.
